Pequonnock River Trail

The Pequonnock River Trail stitches together communities from Bridgeport through Trumbull and Monroe, extending to the Newtown town line. Formalized in 2001 by the state, this regional pathway serves as a vital link for pedestrians and bicyclists, aiming to seamlessly connect existing trails and create a continuous green corridor across multiple municipalities that will extend 16.2 miles upon completion.

In Bridgeport, the trail starts at Seaside Park in the South End before running northward through the heart of Downtown along Broad St, John St, Water St, and Housatonic Ave. Crossing the River St bridge into the East Side neighborhood, it navigates onto Huntington Rd and Noble Ave, continuing through Beardsley Park on River Rd until it reaches the Trumbull Town line.
