    The City of Bridgeport is launching a citywide Climate Resilience Plan to prepare for climate impacts and strengthen infrastructure, communities, the environment, and the economy. The Request for Proposals (RFP) is now open to qualified consultants and will close on November 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM EST.

    Bridgeport has secured Gold in Connecticut's Best Practices in Economic Development & Land Use Planning from Connecticut Economic Development Association (CEDAS)

    CEDAS created the Best Practices Certification Program in 2019:

    • To encourage best practices in municipal economic development and land use to spur continuous improvement;
    • To create an open resource library of model development examples that can be used by municipalities to update their policies and practices.

    This program is intended to drive communities to pursue excellence in land use and economic development practices and to recognize the communities that have established best practices.

    The City of Bridgeport has achieved Sustainable CT Silver Certification, effective through December 31, 2028.

    Sustainable CT is a statewide voluntary certification program for municipalities (towns and cities) in Connecticut, meant to help them become more inclusive, resilient, and vibrant. This year Bridgeport became a first-time certified community earning Silver certification.
