The City of Bridgeport’s Office of Planning and Economic Development (OPED) and BEDCO have partnered to bring Public Art and Placemaking to the entire city! Over the past few years we have brought 30-some-odd projects to life with the first two years (2022-23) focused on Downtown with the Lauren Coakley Vincent and the DSSD for their Colorful Bridgeport Program. Last year with the help of Ed Lavernoich (BEDCO) we started our Citywide Initiative completing 10 new murals from the East End to Black Rock and as many in between. Please Join us this year as we continue this amazing journey to bring more color, passion and love through art to this great city!

Conversations are ongoing to coordinate efforts with the local Neighborhood Revitalization Zones (NRZs). As part of this process, we would like to hear where residents would like to see art. Please use the map below to share your thoughts.

Ryan Christenson AKA "ARCY" recently beautified the East Washington St Bridge. We worked with building owner Mickey from G-Pic and Sons and he wanted to tie in the native sea life we have in the Pequonnock River that flows under this bridge. This mural will help link the downtown to the East Side a bit more through art. The Knowlton, One of BPT's Art Houses is right around the corner located at 305 Knowlton St. More on them in another post...
