The City of Bridgeport has secured funding through CT DEEP’s Climate Resilience Fund grant program to create a citywide Climate Resilience Plan.


The plan will take a neighborhood-focused approach, ensuring that all neighborhoods of Bridgeport are represented in the analysis and recommendations. The plan will also include actionable items across four major themes: infrastructure, social, environmental, and economic resilience.

    The City of Bridgeport is developing a Citywide Climate Resiliency Plan, made possible through funding from the CT DEEP Climate Resilience Fund. This plan will help the city prepare for climate challenges, strengthen neighborhoods, protect the environment, and support the local economy.

    The City, through its Office of Planning and Economic Development (OPED), is seeking a qualified consultant team to lead the development of the plan. The consultant team will provide services including:

    • Data analysis and research
    • Community engagement

    • Plan preparation, compilation, and adoption


    The plan will focus on all neighborhoods in Bridgeport, ensuring that each community is represented. It will include actionable strategies across four main areas:

    • Infrastructure Resilience

    • Social Resilience

    • Environmental Resilience

    • Economic Resilience

    The Request for Proposals is now open, and submissions will be accepted until 2:00 PM on November 5th.
