The Climate Resiliency Plan connects to Plan Bridgeport by supporting the city’s main guiding principles, like making Bridgeport a livable, healthy, and nature-friendly city with a strong economy and regional role. These principles all include goals about being sustainable, prepared for the future, and protecting the environment.
The Plan also focuses on four big themes:
the waterfront,
transit-oriented development (TOD),
housing, and
neighborhoods.
The Climate Resiliency Plan fits into each of these themes by helping protect and strengthen these key areas—like making waterfront areas safer from flooding, encouraging sustainable development near transit, supporting safe and affordable housing, and making neighborhoods more resilient to climate impacts.
